The Media & Your Child

Posted by John Carman on Monday, April 12, 2010 at 6:30 PM

To mark TV turnoff week, the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh will be presenting a talk by Lydia Roberson titled “The Media & Your Child” on Monday, April 19 from 6:30 p.m.–8 p.m.

Today’s children are growing up in a society where the prevalence of televisions, videos and computers is an accepted part of life. Yet researchers have found children’s television watching to be linked to such health concerns as higher rates of obesity and higher blood pressure. To kickoff TV Turnoff week, the Waldorf School of Pittsburgh invites you to join Lydia Roberson to explore this topic in greater depth and discuss alternatives for families who would like to reduce their viewing time.
